Frannywanny's Holiday Gift Idea : The Cookie Jar

Cookies are truly addicting, pair it with a glass of cold milk and it makes a perfect afternoon snack. For my family, we enjoy munching on a cookie or two after dinner. My personal favorite is Mrs. Field's White Chocolate Macadamia. I can never get over how delicious the chunky macadamia nut combined with its milky sweet chocolate. Mmm...

I also remembered the time when I attempted to bake simple chewy chocolate chip cookies. I carefully measured all ingredients and followed the procedure to a T. Later, I drop spoonfuls of dough into my cookie sheet and carefully carried this to my pre-heated oven to bake. Like a little kid, I excitedly waited for my cookies to bake. Using a flashlight I would peek through the oven glass door hoping to watch my cookies take shape. To my horror, it went the other way. My dough started to flatten and spread all over, it was like watching a chemistry project gone wrong. Dumbfounded, I just stared at the oven and wondered what went wrong. The cookies were supposed to bake in 15 minutes but less than 10 minutes in the oven, I can see my "dough" burning. With a broken heart, I carried my cookie sheet back to the work table.

My parents who didn't want me to give up told me to do it again. The next day, with the help of my entire family (yes, full force this time) we carefully measured the ingredients, sifted the flour, set the oven to the right temperature once again followed the procedure closely. It was when I was preparing the ingredients with Papa that I realized why my cookie was a disaster the day before -- I forgot to include the flour. No wonder it melted as it was just butter, sugar, egg, syrup and chocolate chips. My family couldn't stop laughing at my boo-boo and with their help, our second batch came out perfect.

I haven't baked for quite sometime since then, the only time I use the oven is whenever I make pasta, dips and sauces. I realized I'd better stick to cooking than baking. Then I came across the Cookie Jar.

Bottles of cookie mixes with measured ingredients are now available for forgetful bakers like yours truly. All we have to do is to add egg, butter and vanilla and we instantly get delicious cookies baked like a pro! I love how pretty each ingredient was beautifully arranged in the jar.
