J. CO Donuts & Coffee Philippines opens in SM Megamall
The wait is FINALLY over!!!
My newest favorite donut brand, J.CO Donuts & Coffee Philippines, opened its doors to the anticipating public yesterday, March 15, 2012 at SM Megamall Building B and I'm lucky enough to be invited to be part of their exciting launch.
I got there just in time before the program started and the store was filled with so many people! It actually took me a while to finally locate Paul who was already waiting for me inside. There were just to many festivities happening -- nonstop donuts sampling, endless coffee and yogurt supply, fun photo booth session and a lot more!
Call me a stage best friend but I am so proud of T who's one of the driving forces behind this great Indonesian brand. Her numerous trips going back and forth to Indonesia has paid off as they finally opened their first store here in Manila and there's 4 more in the pipeline opening really soon! I beamed with pride as she delivered her welcome remarks to the crowd. Boys, isn't she gorgeous? ;)
Local celebrities and J. CO brand ambassadors Luis Manzano and Karylle hosted the program. I love Karylle's dress and I really find her so pretty! She and Luis were actually dressed as two of the J. CO donuts flavors -- can you guess which ones?
They introduced several models who were also dressed like certain personalities that are in relation to a J. CO donut flavor. Here's Kelly Misa dressed as Snow White as she presents the Snow White Donut! Since I was able to guess this right, I had the honor of getting the first piece of Snow White donut from the tray! Yipee!
Dusted in confectionery sugar, this fluffy donut is filled with white cream. While I normally stay away from cream, I like this very much as it's not very sweet and the filling was pretty light.
Another favorite was the Mona Piza which was modeled by fellow blogger Patty Laurel. This is perfect for those who wants to take a break from all the sweet donut flavors as this donut is topped with chicken sausage, cheese and tomato sauce. I tried this during T's birthday bash and has been looking forward to the launch to have another piece of Mona Piza. This just got to be my favorite J. CO donut flavor!
Paul, on the other hand, loves the Jackie Chunk named after his all-time favorite actor Jackie Chan. A chocolate frosted donut sprinkled with lots of nuts! It's your classic, chocolate-y, nutty donut!
There were all sorts of donut flavors being sampled during the launch! What I love about J.CO is that majority of the flavors are not extremely sweet. We were also able to try the Iced JCoccino which was very good as well as the Berry Yogurt Frappe that Paul enjoyed very much! I can't wait to go back to try their yogurt line next time.
We had a great time mingling with fellow bloggers and friends. I also bumped into TV Host and former Amazing Race contestant Rovilson Fernandez whom I first met as a co-judge during an event in Boracay and his buddies Paolo Trillo (hubby of pretty mommy-to-be Rissa Mananquil-Trillo) and Marc Nelson.
J.Co has a lot of products in store for you! There's the regular-sized donuts, the cute J.PoPs, their wide-array of hot and cold beverages and frozen yogurt. Soon, their store will be WiFi powered too!
What a fun night! Congratulations to the J. CO Donuts and Coffee Philippines team and most especially to my best friend T!
