Everything with Fries at Holland Village
"If only Pan and T were here with me, this would probably be their wonderland."
This was the thought that entered my mind when Paul, O and I decided to have lunch at Everything with Fries. A quick look at their menu will tell you that they're taking this fries-loving quite seriously and staying true to their name, almost every item in the menu comes with a generous serving of fries. Yes, you can have a rice meal with fries, a burger with fries, a pasta dish with fries and more!
Matching the relaxed vibe of Holland Village, dining at Everything with Fries will give you that laid-back feel as you enjoy your meal with friends and family. Service was good as our server was pretty much attentive to our every need.
Since all mains come with your choice of fries, we agreed to get different flavored fries to be able to try them all! My Wild Mushroom Tagliatelle (S$14.90) came with my choice of Garlic and Herbs shoestring fries. I was quite surprised that I was given a hill-load of fries on a small plate. Well, the pasta was pretty bland and really nothing quite spectacular to write about. Maybe a few drizzle of truffle oil would do the trick as it was simply a creamy pasta with an assortment of mushroom slices.
At this point, I was so happy to have some fries to make up for it. While the boys got Straight Cut fries which was thicker and chunkier, I like the shoestring more as I prefer thinly-sliced fries that turns really crunchy when deep-fried. The garlic and herb flavor was very mild though but nothing you can't fix with a pinch of salt.
Paul tried the Tandoori Chicken Sandwich (S$14.90) and said that it was good. He chose to have Straight Cut fries with Curry to match his sandwich. He happily ate his order and commented that the chicken fillet was tender and was really flavorful.
Meanwhile, O got the Lamb Burger (S$15.90) with plain Straight Cut fries. He said it was pretty good as the lamb patty was thick enough to his liking and the straight cut fries was yummy too. How I wish I went for the Lamb Burger too instead of my bland pasta dish.
Looking around the other tables, I noticed that the Mille Crepe Cake (S$7.90) seems to be a best-seller. We would have ordered this but we had plans to get ice cream after so I'll save this for next time.
Over-all Everything with Fries surely is the place to go for...fries. I have yet to be impressed with their main dishes but for afternoon catch-ups with friends, then I'd definitely recommend this as you can share plates of fries and perhaps that slice of Mille Crepe Cake too.
