Back at Shang Palace for Dimsum Plus

I'd say, living in Manila, we were spoilt with a wide array of choices when it comes to Hong Kong / Cantonese - influenced dishes. Dimsum, for one, is abundant and almost all Chinese restaurants offers this. In fact, we can get siopao and siomai even from our neighborhood convenience store! With all these choices, then comes the inevitable questions -- where's the best dimsum in Manila?

Once again, I'll start by saying that taste is subjective so for Frannywanny, it just got to be Shang Palace at the Makati Shangri-la Hotel

I love it so much that every visit I make always should include having lunch at Shang Palace just to enjoy their dimsum! We've been here so many times and yet there's no sign of us getting tired of it soon..maybe not ever in this lifetime! Luckily, our family loves it too making it such a breeze to round up the gang for some dimsum feast. It makes it so much better whenever we're given the function room allowing us more privacy especially with the 3 kids running and playing around.

As they usher you to your table, you're given this bowl of complimentary Sweet Chili Tofu as starters. I'm not a fan of anything with soy but I love this! The tofu (or tokwa) was deep-fried to perfection giving it a slightly crunchy, firm outer coating and a silky soft inside. It's then coated with a sweet spicy sauce which can be very addicting.

I wasn't able to take much photos as we were busy enjoying our lunch and bonding with the family. However, here are some of our Dimsum Plus staples:

Steamed Vegetarian Dumpling "Chiu Chow" Style

Hot Prawn Salad --my all time favorite!

Sweet and Sour Pork

In addition to all these, we also love the Ham Siu Kok, Steamed Crystal Skin Shrimp Dumplings (Hakaw), Shanghai Xiao Long Bao, Prawn with Cheese Ball, Beef Ball, Deep-Fried Taro Puffs with Diced Scallops, Mai Lai Kou (Malay Cake), Hot & Sour Soup and the Sauteed Scallops with Asparagus in XO Sauce. Ohhhh dimsum love!! ♥

The best part about Dimsum Plus is it's an eat-all-you-can dimsum promo for only Php. 888++ and you can order as many dimsum that your stomach can hold (please don't over order and have wastage though!) and you get one main dish per person too. This is such a good deal as you're having the best dimsum with top quality ingredients in Manila for such reasonable price!
