#CafeScene: Sisterfields in Seminyak,Bali | #sisterfields

As we were researching for our trip to Bali last year, Paul and I noticed that the cafe scene in this beautiful Indonesian island is totally booming. This really got us so excited as we're both fans of cafes and we definitely love visiting new ones too. We actually have the option to take our breakfast in the hotel but since we were only there for 3 full days, we didn't want to waste spending more than one meal in one place.

On our first morning in Bali, after taking a million and one shots of the ocean view, we headed to Seminyak to try Sisterfields. This is one of the top cafes rated in Tripadvisor and it was highly recommended by local bloggers and Instagrammers too so we definitely took their word for it. Seminyak is just the next district to where our hotel was thus, making it a short and stress-free 10 minute ride via Uber.

Here's a tip: when in Bali, just use Uber (or Grab) as hailing a cab wasn't very much recommended by our hotel receptionist as there seem to be just one legit cab company called Blue Bird and there are two copycats which can cheat you of your money.

It was very easy to spot the restaurant as it's located along a row of restaurant, bars and cafes. Also, we noticed the crowd inside and outside of the restaurant given that it was barely 9am. This place was totally alive and happening very early in the morning! If you really need help in spotting the restaurant, just keep an eye out for the image of this lady which was drawn on the wall beside the main entrance of the cafe. For Filipinos, I'm pretty sure this lady reminds you of something else too. Haha!

We're so lucky to be able to get a table quickly. I wasn't sure how as the place was so packed yet Paul has managed to get us a nice corner table within 5 minutes. I actually didn't mind waiting as I was busy checking out the pastry section which has such a wide selection of tarts, macarons, muffins, puff pastries and more! However, the smell of those buttery masterpiece made my tummy grumble even more though so I happily followed the server to our table.

Their breakfast menu has a mix of healthy fruit and yogurt bowls to toasts and big breakfast platters. Oh boy, it was so hard to choose!

Eventually, we went for the Pancakes (Rp. 80,000 / Php. 287 / S$8) as I love pancakes so much! I'm so glad that Sisterfields did an amazing job with making such fluffy pancakes and I enjoyed having this with some rhubarb and strawberry compote, maple syrup and vanilla bean ice cream. Yes! Paul and I had ice cream for breakfast. We're such cool kids. One order gives you 3 huge pancakes and when we converted this to Singapore dollars or even to Philippine peso, we both feel that it's such a steal.

To go with our Pancakes, we also tried the Turkish Poached Eggs (Rp. 75,000 / Php. 270 / S$7.60) which I find to be very interesting. It's a huge bowl filled with two poached eggs, a generous scoop of crispy quinoa, slices of cold smoked salmon, dill and garlic yogurt, chili and served with toasted sourdough bread. It was really good when eaten together and I think the secret lies in all these ingredients combining very well together. Between the two, this was easily my favorite which just goes to show how yummy it was since Pancakes have always been my staple breakfast choice all my life.

We love the chilled out vibe at Sisterfields very much. I think this is one place I'm definitely visiting again when I go back to Bali. I highly recommend for you to do so too.
