Starting the day right at Cucina, Marco Polo Ortigas Manila

Rise and Shine, Manila!

Breakfast has always been my favorite meal especially when I'm on a vacation. Lately though, I would always find myself up and about at 6am with a growling tummy. I guess, I got two hungry babies calling my attention so early in the morning! Luckily though, Cucina starts their breakfast service really early too and so I joined a handful of hotel guests a little past 6am on a Sunday morning.

I've always been a fan of Cucina's as I love the well-curated dishes available in their buffet spread. Their breakfast offering didn't fail to impress as well. Let me take you on a quick tour around the breakfast buffet line:

Start off with something healthy in the morning! They have a good variety of muesli, yogurt and oatmeal for you to choose from.

Behind this is a selection of freshly cut fruits! I tried the melon and I love how sweet and juicy it was.

Green juice fans will also love the fact that they got their very own green juice on top of a couple of interesting fruit juice mixes.

Moving on to more interesting options -- they have a couple freshly baked breads with an assortment of cheese slices, butter and jam.

If you are in the mood for something more sweet then the Pastry Station will surely fill you up! I tried the Cheesy Ensaymada and I must say it's definitely delish!

Next is the Egg Station where you can have your eggs done whichever way you want -- sunny-side-up, scrambled, boiled, omelet, poached and more! This is probably one of the most popular station in any buffet line-up as people just love to have eggs for breakfast and it's so good to have it one a la minute.

With eggs, you gotta have bacon too!

Here's my favorite station -- the Filipino Section. I just love Filipino-style breakfast and I happily filled my plate with garlic rice, longganisa and scrambled egg from the Egg Station. I love how they have also provided the right condiments to go with it.

I can never pass up having some European sausages too.

For the more Oriental palate, they have congee and arroz caldo to warm your tummies. Look at all those toppings available!

Lastly, end your breakfast with a warm bowl of Taho (soy pudding with syrup). This one was a crowd favorite as Paul, who came down 2 hours after, sadly wasn't able to enjoy this anymore. :(

What a great breakfast spread! This truly was one of the highlights of our staycation as we definitely had a good start to our second day at Marco Polo Ortigas Manila.

Visit Cucina at the 24th Level of Marco Polo Ortigas Manila, Meralco Avenue, Ortigas Centre, Pasig City. Call 720-7777 for reservations.
