Farmer's Table in Nurture Wellness Village, Tagaytay

Image
Whenever I think of visiting Tagaytay , this place immediately equates to relaxation, comfort and good food. I guess, my parents feel the same way that's why we have been frequenting Tagaytay so much since I was in high school and every long breaks would be spent here. A lot of changes have took place since those days as Tagaytay is now filled with rows after rows of establishments thus giving every visitor endless options on where to stay to where to eat. Unlike before where we would quickly pack our bags and head up to Tagaytay during a long break, this time, we would try to avoid heading there on a holiday unless we plan to spend most of our time on the road.  However, this has never stopped us from having Tagaytay as one of our top destinations whenever we just want a quick and relaxing family break. During one of our weekend trips in Tagaytay, we decided to check out Farmer's Table  which is part of the Raintree Group of Restaurants . Others may not know this nor would th

All things British at Cucina in Marco Polo Ortigas

"We don't call them fries, it's chips! We call it chips!" "You don't boil sausages, you grill them! Who boils or steams sausages?" I'll never forget these comments given by my former boss during one of our office chats about food. Oh how I missed him and our old team! It began when we started talking about the famous British Fish and Chips and one of us asked him why don't they have it with rice, of course, for us Asians..#riceislife! He then explained that they have their deep-fried beer-battered fish with chips and mind you, they don't call it fries. Living in the Lion City, Paul and I had the privilege to know more about the English language such as saying holiday instead of vacation , lift instead of elevator and nappies and prams instead of diapers and strollers . I love listening to the English accent and how formal it sounds. When it comes to food, Singapore also has a strong British influence as the Philippines is to the A

The Chop House by The Wooloomooloo Group

Image
Our dear friend A is in town and this just gave the group another reason to get together for a nice dinner last Sunday. A's dinner choice was  The Chop House in Vivo City and we just couldn't be happier! After all, who says no to having steak and burgers for dinner? Researching more about The Chop House , I was surprised to know that this is actually part of the Wooloomooloo Group . As you all know, Wooloomooloo is ranked to be one of the best steak houses both in Singapore and in Hong Kong. I've been wanting to try Wooloomooloo since I moved to Singapore last year so consider this my first step to Wooloomooloo. What sets The Chop House apart from the famous steak place is that it has a more casual vibe. They're known for their self-service bar system where diners can avail of tap cards with credits that will allow them to try as much beer as they want. Paul and I started our meal with a bowl of Pumpkin Soup (S$10) which was very good. I tell you, after tryin

Bonchon Chicken goes Under the Sea

Image
Chicken lovers all over town rejoiced when Bonchon Chicken finally landed in Manila 4th quarter of 2010. I still remember missing out on The Food Club's first visit to their Ayala Triangle branch as I was bedridden with a nasty and traumatic case of amoebiasis (believe me, a food blogger's worst nightmare) . It took me a couple more months before I finally was able to give it a try and as expected... I liked it! Since then, Bonchon Chicken has been my go-to place whenever I'm craving for some Korean Fried Chicken and most especially some Kimchi Coleslaw when in the mall. With 19 branches all over Metro Manila, it makes it so accessible to dine in whenever the craving arises. However, there are just times that I would prefer a seafood dish over a meaty one. Luckily, Bonchon Chicken now has the answer to that as they recently introduced a line of seafood options for the non-meat eaters. A month ago, I was able to try their Fish & Chips Box (Php. 145) that come

Going back to Charlie's

Image
Since my first visit to Charlie's almost two years ago, I have been a frequent visitor of their Pasig branch where I have discovered a number of favorites aside from their Black Angus burger and Original Buffalo Wings. Through regular visits, I've tried their Strawberry milkshake, Cheese steak sandwich and a lot more. I guess it's due to its close proximity to my workplace making it one of my top choices when dining out with colleagues. How I wish Charlie's would open somewhere closer to my home in order for me to frequent this with Paul. Guess Charlie's heard my prayers as they opened a new branch along Ortigas Avenue just a stone's throw away from our home. Yay! One weeknight with no dinner prepared at home, we decided to take a short drive to Charlie's second branch to satisfy Paul's burger and my buffalo wings cravings. Parking at the basement of Ronac Art Center is limited. So it's best to go early especially during dinner time. Initial
