Aria Cucina Italiana in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig

I can still remember my first Boracay trip. It was the summer of '07 the same year Frannywanny.com was born. Paul and I went with my big big group from work. Finally after many failed attempts, I excitedly sat through our 50-minute flight to Kalibo where we had to take an hour and a half car drive to Caticlan and endure another 10 minute boat ride to the sunny island of Boracay. "This should be worth the wait." I thought to myself. From the moment we got to our resort at Station 1, I held my breath at the beautiful crystal clear water and white powdery sand. This truly was paradise. Definitely worth the wait, dear readers. :) As soon as we dropped off our bags and changed into our beach clothes, off we went in search for a good place to have our very first lunch. Following the lead of my colleagues who have been to Boracay more than I could count with my fingers, we headed to D'Mall. They told us this was the central, go-to place for all Boracay visitors and

Cyma Greek Taverna at Shangri-la Plaza Mall

It has been a while since I've last visited Cyma , it has been 3 whole years in fact. Still, the memory of the delicious Roka Salata, the salty Lamb Chops and the to-die-for Skolatina still remains clear and vivid in my mind. Remember, I mentioned that I had a heavy lunch prior to visiting Sweet Pea last week ? This was because I joined my colleagues for lunch at Cyma Greek Taverna located at the nearby Shangri-la Plaza Mall and boy, we had a feast! Our lunch started with an order of Saganaki otherwise known as Flaming Cheese . Normally, the entire crew will shout OPA! as this was being served to you but I guess everyone was busy attending to the customers that the dramatic entrance of the flaming cheese somehow disappeared. Still, we enjoyed the crunchy buttery garlic bread and the delicious melted cheese. My only request was an order of Roka Salata . I can't have enough of this mix of fresh arugula and lettuce with candied walnuts, sundried tomatoes and parmesan che

Hong Kong: Yeh Lam Kwok

Every minute spent in Hong Kong is precious. Sure, we had four days to enjoy this lovely city but with so much sights to see, restaurants to try and malls to visit, not even a week is enough to explore Hong Kong entirely. We didn’t waste time indeed, from the moment our plane landed and having checked in at Cosmo Kowloon Hotel , we headed straight to Causeway Bay for lunch and shopping. We heard that Sogo was having a big sale and with that, I was determined to check the items out. Unfortunately we arrived in the afternoon – too late for the eager crowd. There was already a sea of shoppers making it unable for us to move around freely. After getting pushed and shoved at left and right, Paul and I left Sogo in less than two minutes. We strolled around the area and admired the pretty displays outside WTC more. Causeway Bay is one of our favorite places to visit in Hong Kong. Together with Tsim Sha Tsui in Kowloon, these two areas are the counterparts of Singapore’s Orchard Road a

Around the World in 7 Corners

This particular lunch was set a month in advance when one of our business contacts invited the entire team to dine out. The venue was at 7 Corners in Crowne Plaza . Due to the sale madness happening around the area, we were a bit late for our lunch date and we arrived apologizing profusely to our host. After our HIs and HELLOs he invited us to visit the buffet spread and to start the feast. One thing I learned about buffet dining is to survey the complete spread first and to plot out my route to avoid over-eating. I began from the entrance where the pizza and dessert area were located followed by the fresh salad station and the sushi bar. After this was the long line of main dishes featuring Indonesian specialties as this was the promo for the month. After reaching the end of the buffet line, I went straight to the sushi bar -- my favorite place to start. My mouth waters at the sight of the Philadephia Roll and the numerous platters of maki roll and sushi. While busy
